Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bruno Martini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 6th minute of play. Patricio Costa took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Martini. Bruno Martini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United FC's Manfred Rudqvist. But to his dismay, Manfred Rudqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Martini having to interfere. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Martini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Martini having to interfere. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joachim De Jonghe in the 32nd minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Rudqvist in the 35th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Martini saved Manchester United FC from getting behind. 41 minutes into the game, Manchester United FC's Ľubomír Timčo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 44 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim De Jonghe came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ľubomír Timčo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joachim De Jonghe in the 52nd minute. Ľubomír Timčo struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United FC. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Bruno Martini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Martini having to interfere. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Saraiva. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim De Jonghe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manfred Rudqvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 85th minute. Manchester United FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After having played for 87 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
