Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Dias in the 11th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Mayhem Sharks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo da Mata to maneuver through the defense. Wellington de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 21st minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Wellington de Almeida was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Jailson Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wellington de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fachtna Duggan was the one to do the kick off. Wellington de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Wellington de Almeida threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mayhem Sharks's Wellington de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 82nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Facundo Cadaval got free with Wellington de Almeida in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Macos Graciani hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute of the match Srđa Vulić sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 95th minute of play forced Mayhem Sharks's goalkeeper Wellington de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico played a much better game than Mayhem Sharks and deserved their victory. The Mayhem Sharks players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
