After 12 minutes of play, La Vieja Guardia Jrs's Inigo Guceño made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 17 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Chorche Viya came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Chica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Chica took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Facundo Cadaval got free in front of the goal in the 27th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Apolo Chica was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 29th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Chica saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calisto Requena hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Apolo Chica tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Apolo Chica. La Vieja Guardia Jrs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. One of Mexico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of La Vieja Guardia Jrs:s goal. Calisto Requena struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Vieja Guardia Jrs. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Apolo Chica successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calisto Requena in the 81st minute of play. Apolo Chica made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. A collision led to La Vieja Guardia Jrs getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Dunixi Cendan hit a great ball. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
