To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play forced Raptors Frýdek-Místek's goalkeeper Constantino Ramirez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Constantino Ramirez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Štěpán Gašpar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raptors Frýdek-Místek's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Lupínek in the 23rd minute. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantino Ramirez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Raptors Frýdek-Místek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Václav Bernat hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Jan Lupínek hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Constantino Ramirez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.

One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Raptors Frýdek-Místek:s goal. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Jan Lupínek:s penalty. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. Murillo de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Raptors Frýdek-Místek players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
