Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by C.J. La Marca in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute, C.J. La Marca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Manzanares. The goal made the score 1-0. A sloppy throw-in by 卓文榕 in the 21st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 24 minutes into the game, C.J. La Marca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by C.J. La Marca in the 29th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugenio Donati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 31st minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
