Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgardo Silva in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgardo Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Edgardo Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 13th minute New England Minas were awarded a corner. Glen Conklin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led New England Minas's Glen Conklin to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 20th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Milagros Fraga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas did a great save. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 30th minute of play. Tony Pacheco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Rolando Noboa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 34th minute, Tony Pacheco reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rolando Noboa. The goal made the score 1-0. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alperen Öksüz in the 37th minute of the match. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Nicholas having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Edgardo Silva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rolando Noboa. The goal made the score 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgardo Silva made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ye Gang Cheng to maneuver through the defense. New England Minas made a substitution. Xiao Bang Kun replaced Jörgen Frohm. 59 minutes in the game Ye Gang Cheng did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Oscar Nordmark. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Jeremy Nicholas in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Peru booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ye Gang Cheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ye Gang Cheng kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tio Lio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conny Tingberg hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Sito, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The New England Minas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
