C.'s goalkeeper Basilio Garaona, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Basilio Garaona was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Lamarque F. C.'s zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Garaona came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 95thth minute of the game Maxi Moco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Venezuela succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Lamarque F. C. had controlled the match.
