The Almazarrón fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Almazarrón's Astrit Melisarov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Astrit Melisarov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Astrit Melisarov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Atilano Ruisko. The corner led to Almazarrón's Archibaldo Candamil getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Astrit Melisarov got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute Aurelio Vodanovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentino Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Aurelio Vodanovic kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Amancio Harroyo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amancio Harroyo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Astrit Melisarov came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Abram Luque. When Mateo Leguizamo fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Mateo Leguizamo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo got a free kick in the 68th minute.
