After 26 minutes, Maximino Urtats mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ✴ ᑭᕮᒪᑌᑕᕼᕮ ✴ and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Luis Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Luis Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. Marco Tamayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Rubio to maneuver through the defense.
