Predador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 16 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Mina threw the ball into play from the sideline. Predador's Elias Sergipano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Mathias Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Mathias Leite didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Evaristo Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The throw-in from Guillermo Mariano in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Predador's Elias Sergipano. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathias Leite was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Camilo Gaos made in the 33rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tomas Illescas however managed to control. 38 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mathias Leite. Predador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Predador's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Mathias Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Joshua Secada has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 45th minute. After 47 played minutes Predador got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Antunes. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Predador's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Leite came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Predador's attentive Laércio Aparecido managed to snatch the ball when Camilo Gaos made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. Mathias Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 62nd minute of the match. Predador's attentive Evaristo Antunes managed to snatch the ball when Salvador Gisbert made a throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Tomas Illescas took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Mathias Leite to make any attempt to save it. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mathias Leite. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Mathias Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 76th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Mathias Leite in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 89th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Predador's Evaristo Antunes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tomas Illescas in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mathias Leite, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mathias Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 94th minute. 95 minutes had been played when some careless play by Predador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
