Ecuador's players were relieved. Luis Andino scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Januário Rangel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in MEXACOMX's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Januário Rangel came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Januário Rangel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Ricardo Guerra recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Ricardo Guerra showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Januário Rangel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Januário Rangel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Januário Rangel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Januário Rangel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Januário Rangel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Januário Rangel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Guerra came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Murilo Costa hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 62 minutes in the game Daniel Zorita got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. In the 67th match minute, MEXACOMX was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fryderyk Gierlach to maneuver through the defense. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Ricardo Guerra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Giannis Kouretzis's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giannis Kouretzis helped the player get up and apologised. After 72 played minutes MEXACOMX got a freekick which was hit by Giannis Kouretzis. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Januário Rangel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Januário Rangel came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 77th minute. Wu Liang Mo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. 90 minutes in the game, Luis Andino fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Januário Rangel having to interfere. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
