An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Almiron in the 8th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Matias Maties cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Sacro Balompié fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Sacro Balompié's Miguel Almiron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Miguel Almiron scored 0-4 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute, Miguel Almiron made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. The supporters of Sacro Balompié booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Almiron took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sacro Balompié's Baltasar Sancho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Sacro Balompié from getting a goal against them. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Almiron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Sacro Balompié's Aquiles Bieito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Almiron in the 41st minute of the match. After 43 minutes, Jesus Carvallo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Sacro Balompié players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. The audience held their breath when Bonifacio Cedro in the 44th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ricardo Zorita's left hand side. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jesus Carvallo hit a great ball.

In the 52nd minute, Apolo Peto made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. Apolo Peto took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. Apolo Peto scored 0-10 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 62 minutes into the game, Apolo Peto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Almiron in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Matias Maties ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-12. Matias Maties sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Gaueko went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-17 was the resulting score. The El Salvador fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sacro Balompié were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
