Vladimiro Chuse dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Chimborazo A.F.C booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Tomas Berganza made a precise shot to the right of Vladimiro Chuse. Chimborazo A.F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Alex Cambeiro hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Napoleon Wolnik in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Panama's Tomas Berganza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vladimiro Chuse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 19 played minutes Chimborazo A.F.C got a freekick which was hit by Napoleon Wolnik. Marcos Bizi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Vladimiro Chuse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimiro Chuse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. With 36 minutes on the clock, Dylan Sarmiento commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 35th minute, one of Panama:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Panama. 37 minutes into the match, Ernesto Pacifico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Pacifico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 43 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladimiro Chuse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Aurelio Bernal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Marcos Cotilla when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Aurelio Bernal did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-3 to the left of a surprised Marcos Cotilla 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Panama were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Bizi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vladimiro Chuse. That made the score 2-4 after 55 minutes of play. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Napoleon Wolnik in the 58th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Bizi in the 59th minute of play. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Chuse having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, German Txatxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abraham Alguacil blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimiro Chuse having to make a save. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Bernal in the 68th minute of play. Vladimiro Chuse was a little too slow when Miguel Miralles got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 2-5. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Chuse having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Napoleon Wolnik in the 77th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Bernal in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes in the game, Tomas Berganza fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Vladimiro Chuse having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Panama's Tomas Berganza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vladimiro Chuse. Vladimiro Chuse yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-6. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Vladimiro Chuse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Tomas Berganza took a quick shot and it went in 2-7 without a chance for Vladimiro Chuse to make any attempt to save it. In the 97th match minute, Chimborazo A.F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Vincent to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Panama could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Chimborazo A.F.C throughout the match.
