Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) BASEL FC's Baykal Acabey started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Nicanor Loiola in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adam Dailey kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 25th match minute, BASEL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Dailey to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicanor Loiola having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Yaris Kusumadilaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Yaris Kusumadilaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicanor Loiola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baykal Acabey in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 35thth minute of the game Baykal Acabey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baykal Acabey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Robby Darwis in the 47th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Patricio Costa.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. After 66 minutes, Patricio Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the BASEL FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Adam Dailey made in the 67th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Muchsin Maulana. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baykal Acabey in the 69th minute. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of BASEL FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Yaris Kusumadilaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Yaris Kusumadilaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yaris Kusumadilaga kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 81st minute of the game was made by Adam Dailey with Robby Darwis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 84th minute Niculae Fărcășan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yaris Kusumadilaga was slow to take the kick. During this time BASEL FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Baykal Acabey almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. After 89 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nicanor Loiola came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Mihail Dumitras took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. Baykal Acabey let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 95th minute shot 0-4 at rihgt post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched BASEL FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
