Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Donato Venerando got the match started through his kick off. Erik Kassentoft didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Mancebo went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Donato Venerando sent off a good shot on target. Erik Kassentoft took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Kassentoft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Cristo Basajaun came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Kassentoft having to interfere. In the 15th play minute Donato Venerando came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dante Lacasa. 1-1. Erik Kassentoft showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 22nd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristo Basajaun. A nice corner shot did that Jimeno Abastas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Jimeno Abastas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Ardiles's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Erik Kassentoft reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ardiles's goalie and right to Luca Zorita. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ardiles's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Erik Kassentoft made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 60th minute. In the 64th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Kassentoft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 66th minute of play forced Ardiles's goalkeeper Erik Kassentoft to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ardiles's Erik Kassentoft played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 67th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Erik Kassentoft in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Abastas, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Lautaro Mancebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Erik Kassentoft when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ardiles made a substitution. Feliberto Ramirez replaced Indiana Jones. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Alberto Tafalla took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Erik Kassentoft to make any attempt to save it. The long shot by Joel Gaona in the 93rd minute really tested Erik Kassentoft's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimeno Abastas in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Erik Kassentoft saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
