Oswaldo Murillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute, Sebastian Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rareș Taşcău in the 6th minute of play. Eloy Pacorro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. Qerim Shala kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Oswaldo Murillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Oswaldo Murillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Qerim Shala struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kosteños. In the 17th minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oswaldo Murillo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Moises Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oswaldo Murillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Oswaldo Murillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Sebastian Villa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Emanuel Ocampo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thiago Alcántara hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Moises Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stig-Ove Lundblad hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Kosteños's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Oswaldo Murillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Navarro kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Ove Lundblad came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Moises Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qerim Shala in the 65th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Kosteños's Timoteo Abeijon got a free kick in the 70th minute. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Joel Venceslao in the 77 minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Moises Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 played minutes Kosteños got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Ove Lundblad. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Stig-Ove Lundblad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kosteños's supporters rose to their feet, but Stig-Ove Lundblad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thiago Alcántara kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Stig-Ove Lundblad took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Kosteños fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
