When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cássio Velasco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. Adriano Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 25th minute of the match. Eliézer Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Jumentus's Cássio Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th match minute, Jumentus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Dalen to maneuver through the defense. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Glauco Faria's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glauco Faria helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes Jumentus got a freekick which was hit by Glauco Faria. Adriano Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 68th minute of play forced Jumentus's goalkeeper Adriano Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Tomas Illescas could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Adriano Penha however easily saved by the left post. 77 minutes into the game, Jumentus's Cássio Velasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 89th minute of the match Nicholas Dalen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nicholas Dalen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Jumentus had played much better football throughout.
