Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Téo Campidelis sent off a good shot on target. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Oliveira was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 10th minute of the game Sandro Alvarenga made a throw-in which Magno Nunes played forward. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Magno Nunes went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of play forced Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s goalkeeper Tomé Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caco Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Tomé Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Magno Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Magno Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Magno Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute, Venezuela's Patricio Costa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Sandro Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 72 minutes, Magno Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Magno Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Campidelis in the 73rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 74th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Tomé Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomé Oliveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute, Téo Campidelis made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caco Guimarães went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 92nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tomé Oliveira but with some difficulty.
