The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardinho Romeo got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Navarro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arturo Cordaro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Bernardinho Romeo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardinho Romeo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johan Romanius kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. After 31 minutes, Arturo Cordaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. 33 minutes into the game, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hector Cambranes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Perry Barrios hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Moises Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Cambranes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 played minutes ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ got a freekick which was hit by Americo Javiar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. A throw-in in the 51st minute of the game was made by Ruperto Tercero with Bernardinho Romeo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Hector Cambranes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Espinar in the 53rd minute of play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Cordaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perry Barrios's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perry Barrios helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Americo Javiar to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Arturo Cordaro struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ. The ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
