The ball had pretty good speed, but Hector Cambranes firmly grabbed it by the left post. Hector Cambranes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 8th minute. In the 19th match minute, ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johan Romanius to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Arturo Cordaro sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Cordaro in the 31st minute of play. Fabio Aurre charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Aurre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Uruguay booed when ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Aurre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kevin Carballal kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Francisco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Hector Cambranes. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The Uruguay players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ were winning 1-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 53rd minute of play forced ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's goalkeeper Hector Cambranes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the last second Joaquin Gayoso throw himself and got hold of the ball when Arturo Cordaro in the 54thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 56th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Cambranes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hector Cambranes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 58th minute of the match. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Arturo Cordaro got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arturo Cordaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. In the 64thth minute of the game Arturo Cordaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hector Cambranes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hector Cambranes. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. A collision led to ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Americo Javiar hit a great ball. Hector Cambranes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 83rd minute of play. ᴡɪʟᴅᴇxʜᴀᴍ ꜰᴄ's Hector Cambranes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 87th minute of play. Bernardinho Romeo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Joaquin Gayoso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 95th minute, Maximiliano Escribano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. There was no doubt that Uruguay were the better team. Uruguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
