Severino Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 14th minute of the match. Severino Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Severino Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 21st minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Severino Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diguinho de Senna hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Paulo José de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Madureira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th match minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diguinho de Senna to maneuver through the defense. Clemente Prestes struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE. 45 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severino Madureira. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Diguinho de Senna. In the 51st minute of the match, Joel Gaona sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Severino Madureira showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. In the 54th minute of the match, Alberto Tafalla tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Severino Madureira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 55th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Paulo José de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo José de Barros couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's zone, Facundo Cadaval stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Madureira came out of the goal and Facundo Cadaval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Décio Vides got a free kick in the 61st minute. Severino Madureira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joel Gaona went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After having played for 72 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Severino Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 79th minute of play. Joel Gaona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severino Madureira having to make a save. In the 92nd minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Mexico booed when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Décio Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Diguinho de Senna was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. Severino Madureira acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 98th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Joel Gaona. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
