Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Niceto Ihazintu started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Nunes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 6 minutes into the match, Caatiba MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ergo Muro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 7th minute. In the 13th minute, Caatiba MZC's Valdomiro Ortiz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valdomiro Ortiz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Caatiba MZC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valdomiro Ortiz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 12 minutes into the game, one of Caatiba MZC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ergo Muro had in the 14thth minute some difficulties stopping Luz Tejedor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Efraim Gilabert hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The long shot by Jorge Henrique in the 21st minute really tested Rolando Noboa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper Ergo Muro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Caatiba MZC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro did a great save. Ergo Muro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 36th minute. The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro did a great save. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Henrique in the 38th minute of the match. Ergo Muro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ergo Muro. Ergo Muro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 48 minutes of play, Peru's Luz Tejedor made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ergo Muro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ezequiel Nunes, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Henrique in the 55th minute of play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodriguinho Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Luz Tejedor took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Ergo Muro to make any attempt to save it. 79 minutes into the match, Caatiba MZC's Delfim Bertassi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ergo Muro made a huge save. In the 84th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ergo Muro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. After some careless play in the Caatiba MZC defense, Rafael Gallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ergo Muro. The Caatiba MZC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ergo Muro should have stopped the shot. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
