In the 9th minute Wanderson Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Christian Passos came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 14 in the game by Laerte Lucas from a close distance when the talented Tiago Godoi managed to make a qualified save. São Paulo F.C.'s players were relieved. 15 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Christian Passos came free, but Tiago Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laerte Lucass short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Tiago Godoi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Christian Passos took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiago Godoi. Tiago Godoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Llorienzo came free, but Ronaldo Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiago Godoi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Olavo Matorin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Laerte Lucas in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tiago Godoi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tiago Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Medeiros came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo F.C.'s Dirk Snabl. But to his dismay, Dirk Snabl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dirk Snabl made the kick off in the second half. Ronaldo Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yaya Sow in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Luisito Antequera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Montevideo booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Snabl didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 played minutes Montevideo got a freekick which was hit by Natanael de Godoi. Tiago Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael de Godoi in the 70th minute of play. Marco Llorienzo hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th match minute, São Paulo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murillo Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Antequera in the 79th minute of play forced São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper Tiago Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiago Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montevideo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
