Renan Melo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Deilmison van Basten's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 14th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Deilmison van Basten sped through A.A. Francana's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Renan Melo. Deilmison van Basten struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Renan Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ATHLETICO PRaiano. Charlie Boström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodriguinho Sousa having to make a save. After 28 minutes, Deilmison van Basten made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. A.A. Francana's Renan Melo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliott Bergsten in the 30th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Deilmison van Basten notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of A.A. Francana's Renan Melo. Renan Melo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. That made the score 1-5 in the 38 minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Deilmison van Basten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renan Melo. A.A. Francana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Deilmison van Basten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Rodriguinho Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elliott Bergsten in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.

In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Renan Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 56th minute. In the 59th minute, Deilmison van Basten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renan Melo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. Denílson Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Melo having to interfere. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Heitor Maldini was substituted for Betão Marquez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 70th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deilmison van Basten might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Renan Melo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deilmison van Basten ran back to his position shaking his head. Roman Koenig blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodriguinho Sousa having to make a save. Renan Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deilmison van Basten got free with Renan Melo in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliott Bergsten in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in A.A. Francana's zone, Deilmison van Basten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Melo came out of the goal and Deilmison van Basten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ATHLETICO PRaiano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
