MOC ⚽'s zone, Esteve Hodei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Börje Skarkman came out of the goal and Esteve Hodei tried to chip the ball over his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Borel in the 18th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Duarte Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 played minutes ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ got a freekick which was hit by Eustacio Cebrian. After 21 played minutes, AFC - Curitiba's Lucjan Setara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Börje Skarkman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AFC - Curitiba reached it. Emilio Macchia hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 25 minutes of play, AFC - Curitiba's Esteve Hodei made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Börje Skarkman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Börje Skarkman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Romário Ortiz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. The supporters of ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ. MOC ⚽ booed when AFC - Curitiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Bykowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabiano Borel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Duarte Mendes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabiano Borel in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Ortiz in the 64th minute of play forced ⚽ VILA REAL F.ᑕ.
