Marseille's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ferhat Özsan was slow to take the kick. During this time Royal PSG's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ferhat Özsan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Didier Lafargue quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 10 minutes into the match, Royal PSG's Edoardo Filippini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Didier Lafargue narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 15 minutes in the game Joe Plantin did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Mihail Toader. Edoardo Filippini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Didier Lafargue came out and tried to block the shot, but Edoardo Filippini slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Edoardo Filippini who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Didier Lafargue when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Joe Plantin in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Royal PSG's Ferhat Özsan. Royal PSG's attentive Ferhat Özsan managed to snatch the ball when Joe Plantin made a throw-in in the 36th minute of the game. Edoardo Filippini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Didier Lafargue made a huge save. After 38 minutes R.C. Marseille's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferhat Özsan who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Flavien Villemin to score against Didier Lafargue in R.C. Marseille's goal. 2-0 after 38 minutes. In the 40th minute, Royal PSG's Edoardo Filippini dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Joe Plantin made in the 46th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mihail Toader immediately put the ball in play.

The audience was convinced that Edoardo Filippini's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Didier Lafargue was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Royal PSG's Tristan Bétourne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrille Melon in the 56th minute of play. The Tristan Bétourne was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 71st minute Samuel Izard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didier Lafargue saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joe Plantin made in the 79th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Royal PSG's Ferhat Özsan. Samuel Izard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 83 minutes of play, Royal PSG's Samuel Izard made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Didier Lafargue was left in no man's land by his defense there! Didier Lafargue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edoardo Filippini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 played minutes Royal PSG got a freekick which was hit by Bermund Arruda. R.C. Marseille's Cyrille Melon got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
