After a rather tough play, Cats and dogs's Nicolas Hamard got a free kick in the 11th minute. Renan Bouzat blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joe Camp having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cyrille Melon in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joe Camp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gaétan Bouchard in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gustave Souchu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 19 minutes into the game, Renan Bouzat cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Joe Camp was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Nicolas Hamard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cats and dogs's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Hamard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustave Souchu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Cyrille Melon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joe Camp. Cats and dogs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cyrille Melon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Cyrille Melon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cyrille Melon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Cats and dogs players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. R.C. Marseille were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaétan Bouchard was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Cyrille Melon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cats and dogs's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nicolas Hamard in the 57th minute. The corner led Cats and dogs's Nicolas Hamard to fire away a dangerous shot which Gustave Souchu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jean-Marc Buisson kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. R.C. Marseille's Djibril Mourot was substituted for Mihail Toader. Marseille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Abrego to maneuver through the defense. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Souchu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaétan Bouchard in the 88th minute of play. After 88 minutes, Téo Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cats and dogs and the R.C. Marseille players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joe Camp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyrille Melon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Cats and dogs defense, Cyrille Melon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joe Camp. The Cats and dogs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joe Camp should have stopped the shot. In the last second Joe Camp throw himself and got hold of the ball when Cyrille Melon in the 96thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. R.C. Marseille's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
