The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Primitivo Grau. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlhami Akyazıcı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Petre Iftode fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by İlhami Akyazıcı. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olov Ahlbeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. Petre Iftode hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Chiuzbaian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ivan Chiuzbaian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Zhao Sen Yang came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 24 minute. In the 29th minute, Zhao Sen Yang made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 32nd minute Zhao Sen Yang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olov Ahlbeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner Stasio Bienienda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 35th minute of the match Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Olov Ahlbeck ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Bernardo Di Piazza hit a great ball. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 3-0 after 43 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian. Ivan Chiuzbaian was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 58 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olov Ahlbeck who took care of the corner kick. A well done corner resulted in Zhao Sen Yang drilling the ball in to score 4-1 behind Ecuador's goalkeeper. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- made a substitution. Mugurel Pandele replaced İlhami Akyazıcı. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zhao Sen Yang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Mugurel Pandele hit a great ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang. But to his dismay, Zhao Sen Yang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petre Iftode didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
