Clube Audax Metropolitano's Sergio Chus quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alex Chicote, made in the 5th minute of the game. In the 8th minute, Poul Stanković got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Poul Stanković in the 12th minute of the match. Poul Stanković's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Audax Metropolitano's Poul Stanković. But to his dismay, Poul Stanković quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Salvador Gisbert got a throw-in 21 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Patricio Costa. Edgard Sá lost his temper 31 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Clube Audax Metropolitano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. In the 34th minute of the game, Venezuela got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Audax Metropolitano's Poul Stanković. But to his dismay, Poul Stanković quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Poul Stanković kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After 44 played minutes Clube Audax Metropolitano got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Esteves. In the 46th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Poul Stanković to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Claudinho Quadros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute, Emirşah Berkman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Audax Metropolitano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. 66 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emirşah Berkman. Emirşah Berkmans short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Poul Stanković in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Clube Audax Metropolitano's Bruno Aleixo was substituted for Claudinho Quadros. Clube Audax Metropolitano made a substitution. Eriberto Netto replaced Poul Stanković. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Eriberto Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Clube Audax Metropolitano got a penalty, and Eriberto Netto placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. 87 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Netto. Emanuel Esteves made in the 89th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eriberto Netto however managed to control. Clube Audax Metropolitano's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
