After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Azeari Velamines quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustín Saelices was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Azeari Velamines took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, El Vigia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Azeari Velamines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante King hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patrick Mangueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Azeari Velamines stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute of the match Inacio Garrote shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Azeari Velamines in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing El Vigia FC to leave the ground with a draw.
