Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulises Abilio in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. When Ulises Abilio came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Caballo Loco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulises Abilio couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. German Toro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Pan Song Yong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís das Neves having to interfere. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Caballo Loco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Jakobe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luís das Neves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costa Rica reached it. The supporters of Caballo Loco booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Pan Song Yong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. If Pan Song Yong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulises Abilio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. After 89 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Caballo Loco left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Costa Rica.
