Marcel Bântu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcel Bântu made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Moises Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. Moises Fernandino took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Bântu. Marcel Bântu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 17th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abram Luque to maneuver through the defense. After 22 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Marco Tamayo. When Emilian Todoran, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 46 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ricardo Zorita was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The supporters of Fotbal Club Vaslui booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilian Todoran to make the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodor Oneț couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Fotbal Club Vaslui defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Bântu. The Fotbal Club Vaslui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Bântu should have stopped the shot. Marcel Bântu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Marcel Bântu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 68th minute of the match. Panait Ogășanu hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Jesus Carvallo charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jesus Carvallo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. The El Salvador fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fotbal Club Vaslui had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
