Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Pascal having to interfere. Bruno Pascal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Deportivo Gamberro's goalkeeper Bruno Pascal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Deportivo Gamberro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Deportivo Gamberro's goalie and right to Agustín Saelices. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Deportivo Gamberro's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roman Reynardo went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 36 minutes into the game, Ambrosio Kepa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Gamberro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Ambrosio Kepa hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bruno Pascal. Bruno Pascal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Bruno Pascal in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Orti kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 64th match minute, Deportivo Gamberro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Orti to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Gamberro's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Pascal came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Mosen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute of play forced Deportivo Gamberro's goalkeeper Bruno Pascal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Gamberro's Marcelo Orti got a free kick in the 75th minute. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Niceto Perpinya came free in front of goal and shot 3-2 to the left of him in the 77 minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute. Felix Montes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Roberto Mosen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Deportivo Gamberro's Bruno Pascal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 91st minute of play. Bruno Pascal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 95th minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
