Keszi Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aquilino Castelo Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samuel Asteri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Samuel Asteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugó Révész in the 46th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugó Révész stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Baltasar Ursino hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Despite this Samuel Asteri quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Claudinho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baraquiel Labarra in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute Volvimos mejores were awarded a corner. Carlos Cordearo went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 80th minute Isac Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Asteri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Keszi Athletic supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Keszi Athletic would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
