The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Steven Abisheganaden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. After 6 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. If Mujahid Singh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shah Tan in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. Ricardo Zorita was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Shah Lam capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Shah Lam really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Shah Lam sent off a good shot on target. Shah Tan in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Darren Chandran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Shahiran Hian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraná Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Shahiran Hian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th match minute, Paraná Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shah Lam to maneuver through the defense. After 35 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moises Fernandino during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Paraná Clube booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Fernandino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paraná Clube's Mujahid Singh shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 41st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ricardo Zorita but with some difficulty. With his leg Ricardo Zorita managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Paraná Clube's Shah Tan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Paraná Clube's Shah Tan in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Salvador's goalie prevented a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Marco Tamayo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shah Tan in the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the game, Marco Tamayo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraná Clube the free kick. After 55 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Marco Tamayo. 61 minutes into the match, Shahiran Hian notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shah Tan in the 65th minute of the match. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shah Tan in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Luis Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shah Tan, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the game, Mujahid Singh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. A beautiful save bye El Salvador's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Mateo Leguizamo hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute of the match Mujahid Singh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shah Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Magrina.
