In the 14th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. VB-Team's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VB-Team's Armindo Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 22nd minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Salgado having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim de Barros in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joaquim de Barros hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. When Joaquim de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the VB-Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim de Barros couldn't finish the play. Joaquim de Barross short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 47 minutes of play, VB-Team's Joaquim de Barros made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Joaquim de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Caeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Joaquim de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th match minute, VB-Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Caeiro to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervásio Severiano in the 68th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Gervásio Severiano notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of VB-Team:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Hăvârneanu in the 80th minute of play. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Armindo Salgado made a huge save. In the 85th minute, Gervásio Severiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Caeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Hăvârneanu in the 92nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Traian Hăvârneanu in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 98th minute Luís Caeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Hăvârneanu in the 100th minute of play. The VB-Team support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
