Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 6 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reinaldo Mota was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ecuador booed when Baby Barza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Briceño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reinaldo Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Reinaldo Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reinaldo Mota saved Baby Barza from getting behind. Reinaldo Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Baby Barza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sermet Nevsal to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 36 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Baby Barza players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reinaldo Mota made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
