Furia Calamar's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Sotero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9th minute, Furia Calamar's Niklas Alströmer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damaso Sotero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jozef Barmoš who took care of the corner kick. Hipolito Manni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Damaso Sotero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Baldomiro Reynardo in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. A throw-in in the 58th minute of the game was made by Kaido Saia with Niklas Alströmer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Furia Calamar booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Baldomiro Reynardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Baldomiro Reynardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Furia Calamar.
