Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Damasco in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Aldo Damasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aldo Damasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s Avram Popoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 15th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Jacob May managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Avram Popoiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Vladimir Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cassius Byrne in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Avram Popoiu saved Deportivo Damasco F.C. from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Montxo Cabero during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Deportivo Damasco F.C. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Montxo Cabero hit a great ball. Avram Popoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A throw-in in the 29th minute of the game was made by Diego Bradley with Monty Rogers as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jenson Smith made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s Bonifaco Montoya. Diego Bradley's late challenge caught a Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diego Bradley helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Diego Bradley hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cassius Byrne in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Avram Popoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. After some careless play in the USA defense, Roman Corte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. In the 58th minute of the match USA got a corner. Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Deportivo Damasco F.C. defense, Cassius Byrne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Avram Popoiu. The Deportivo Damasco F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Avram Popoiu should have stopped the shot. Avram Popoiu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Monty Rogers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 66 minute of play. Deportivo Damasco F.C. made a substitution. Tiadoro Cores replaced Guaberto Ramone. Avram Popoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sam Campbell, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Tiadoro Cores struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Damasco F.C.. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Tiadoro Cores managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Tiadoro Cores was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Tiadoro Cores managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Damasco F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Tiadoro Cores was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Avram Popoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khalid Parry in the 95th minute of the match. USA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
