Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquim de Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Armindo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armindo Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Peru booed when VB-Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Caeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim de Barros in the 20th minute of play. Shao Kun Yuan kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 22 minutes, Arthur Guerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VB-Team and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, VB-Team's Arthur Guerra got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Julian Murillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Caeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, VB-Team's Armindo Salgado got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervásio Severiano in the 32nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shao Kun Yuan charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shao Kun Yuan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to VB-Team getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Shao Kun Yuan hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armindo Salgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Caeiro in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arthur Guerra made in the 40th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Shao Kun Yuan however managed to control. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Caeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Armindo Salgado in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by César Sampaio, made in the 44th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 47th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half VB-Team were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Gervásio Severiano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rolando Noboa firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 53rd minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Gervásio Severiano sent off a good shot on target. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of VB-Team's Armindo Salgado. In the 67th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, VB-Team's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Armindo Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Arthur Guerra made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. After some careless play in the VB-Team defense, Rafael Gallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armindo Salgado. The VB-Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armindo Salgado should have stopped the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
