Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabiano Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 25th minute of the match. Esperança FC's Fabiano Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play. Fabiano Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Esperança FC's Adilson de Alcântara got a free kick in the 35th minute. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Esperança FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that Luís de Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Fabiano Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho das Neves in the 53rd minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís de Moraes in the 54th minute of play. When Luís de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Esperança FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís de Moraes couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 61st minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís de Moraes in the 73rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabiano Saldanha. Fabiano Saldanha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 89th match minute, Esperança FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Teles to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Saldanha having to interfere. Luís de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Andrézinho das Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
