Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 2 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Walmyr Linhares. Walmyr Linhares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play forced INTER FC's goalkeeper Walmyr Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Valverde hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Walmyr Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. INTER FC's Walmyr Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, INTER FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Walmyr Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Seco in the 29th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. INTER FC's Walmyr Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Walmyr Linhares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 37 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walmyr Linhares. INTER FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 42nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmyr Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Seco during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th minute, Marco Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marco Seco made the kick off in the second half. Walmyr Linhares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmyr Linhares was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. In the 69th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute, Marco Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Batista. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind INTER FC's goalkeeper Walmyr Linhares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Linhares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. The supporters of Ecuador booed when INTER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, INTER FC's Marcelo Valverde got a free kick in the 80th minute. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the INTER FC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walmyr Linhares. The INTER FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walmyr Linhares should have stopped the shot. In the 87th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. INTER FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montenegro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Walmyr Linhares quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Walmyr Linhares. That made the score 0-8 after 89 minutes of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Walmyr Linhares made a huge save. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Walmyr Linhares. The goal made the score 0-9.
