After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Fortunato Borromeo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Pinti in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Eurospeed Asti booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fausto Pinti was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Antonello Tofani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
