With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arjen Holsmuller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benedicto Ortuzar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play forced A. F. C. YELLOW FLOWER's goalkeeper Arjen Holsmuller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arjen Holsmuller stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. When Gomesano Campano fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A. F. C. YELLOW FLOWER's protests and gave Gomesano Campano a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for A. F. C. YELLOW FLOWER! Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gartzen Portillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when A. F. C.
