After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, 董骏景 managed to get in a good position for a shot. ☆Charallave☆'s supporters rose to their feet, but 董骏景 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cesareo Alcantara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 10th minute Chaime Delgadillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ☆Charallave☆ were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Korneliusz Wozniak took the corner. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesareo Alcantara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 37 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Korneliusz Wozniak in the 38th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, ☆Charallave☆'s goalkeeper Cesareo Alcantara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 董骏景's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After 55 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Korneliusz Wozniak who took care of the corner kick. ☆Charallave☆'s Korneliusz Wozniak was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Chaime Delgadillo sent off a good shot on target. After 58 minutes, 董骏景 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ☆Charallave☆ and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ☆Charallave☆ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. 董骏景 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesareo Alcantara having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 董骏景 in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 83rd minute of play forced ☆Charallave☆'s goalkeeper Cesareo Alcantara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes in the game Camilo Gisbert did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Cristian Sancho. 董骏景's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 董骏景 in the 96th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
