Angelino Nueva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of play forced Reko-Recko 03™'s goalkeeper Angelino Nueva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Luis Andino threw the ball into play from the sideline. Reko-Recko 03™'s Mai quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelino Nueva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Reko-Recko 03™ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Federico Valverde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reko-Recko 03™ and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card.
