Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Axel Tasis got the match started through his kick off. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a ALIANZA 1901's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of ALIANZA 1901 booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Tomasini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alfredo Tomasini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, ALIANZA 1901's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Bieito Luzuriaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Tomasini in the 18th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richie Ason, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. ALIANZA 1901 were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nazario Ispuzua took the corner. When Josepe Gamiz came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the ALIANZA 1901 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josepe Gamiz couldn't finish the play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Escobar in the 37th minute of play. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by ALIANZA 1901's Luis Escobar. But to his dismay, Luis Escobar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Luis Escobar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Bieito Luzuriaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Luis Escobar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 48th minute, Alfredo Tomasini made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 55th minute of the match ALIANZA 1901 got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nazario Ispuzua ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Josepe Gamiz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benito Sanz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 63rd minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luis Escobar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 64 minute of play. In the 68th minute of the match, Alfredo Tomasini tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Bieito Luzuriaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. In the 72nd minute, ALIANZA 1901's Alfredo Tomasini dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when ALIANZA 1901's Luis Escobar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 80th play minutes Luis Escobar shot 0-9, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Richie Ason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Richie Ason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richie Ason in the 82nd minute of play. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Luis Escobar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 87th minute. When Alfredo Tomasini came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the ALIANZA 1901 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Tomasini couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, ALIANZA 1901's Pancho Tabernilla got a free kick in the 89th minute. Axel Tasis was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 90th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Lautaro Puig fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Lautaro Puig a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet as ALIANZA 1901's Alfredo Tomasini slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-10 after 96 minutes of play. The Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ALIANZA 1901 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
