In the 18th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucas Alario went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, A.D Atlético Villa Gesell's Severo Elequemedo got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severo Elequemedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 55 in the game by Lucas Alario from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. The corner ended in Anier Pereyra almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After having played for 74 minutes, Felix Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucas Alario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severo Elequemedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! Severo Elequemedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lucas Alario's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. In the 95th minute, Ildefonso Aritza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Severo Elequemedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 98th minute of play. A.D Atlético Villa Gesell were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ecuador's much stronger midfield.
