An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 12th minute of play forced NECKER49's goalkeeper Joel Cristofor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 minutes NECKER49's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Cristofor was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Riki Čapo in the 17th minute of play. After 19 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Basilio Hegoi who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when John Skytt got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-0. 20 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as NECKER49's Riki Čapo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Noboa. That made the score 2-0 after 22 minutes of play. In the 24th minute Santiago Totakoxe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Totakoxe made in the 28th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Joel Cristofor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of play. When John Skytt came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the NECKER49 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Skytt couldn't finish the play. Luz Tejedor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Cristofor having to make a save. 38 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Riki Čapo. 40 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Cristofor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 41st minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Skytt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Cristofor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Gonzáles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Julian Murillo put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Joel Cristofor. 61 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Riki Čapo came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Riki Čapo in the 62nd minute of the match. NECKER49's Joel Cristofor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 64th minute of play. NECKER49's Benigno Piearres was substituted for Riki Čapo. In the 67th match minute, NECKER49 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Argina to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Santiago Totakoxe in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 70 minutes into the match, NECKER49's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Joel Cristofor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. NECKER49's Isidoro Fagondo was substituted for Silvano Casanova. In the 73rd minute, Joaquin Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, NECKER49's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Joel Cristofor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. NECKER49's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Julian Murillo 83 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-4. NECKER49's Leandro Haritzeder was substituted for John Skytt. 91 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Piearres came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 minutes, Rafael Gallo made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. NECKER49's Joel Cristofor tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Joel Cristofor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Peru supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
