With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Gabriel Porfiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eduardo Liher got free with Rolando Noboa in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Janusz Ziemniak in the 93rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Milagros Fraga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gabriel Porfiro. That made the score 1-3 after 95 minutes of play.
